Narabhupal Shah made an unsuccessful invasion on Nuwakot.

Narabhupal Shah, father of Prithivi Narayan Shah died. Prithivi Narayan Shah ascended to the throne.

Kartik, 1799
First attack on Nuwakot by Prithivi Narayan Shah and was defeated.

Ashwin 15, 1801
Victory over Nuwakot. Shankhamani Rana, commander of Nuwakot died.

Shrawan, 1811
Attack on Dahachok & construction of a fort.
1814 B.S
Prithivi Narayan Shah started military expeditions.
Jestha 19, 1814
First attacked on Kirtipur. Gorkha got very bad defeat & Kalu Panday was killed. Kantipur, Bhaktapur & Patan had supported Kirtipur in this battle.

Bhadra 9, 1819
Gorkha conquered Makawanpur & the king of Makwanpur, Digbandhan Sen went to Hariharpur.

Ashwin 22, 1819
Gorkhali force captured Hariharpur & the king of Makawanpur, Digbandhan Sen surrendered.

Magh 10, 1819
Defeat of the army of Gurgin Khan. The troops of Mir Kassim, Nawab of Bengal, led by Gurgin Khan, who came to fight in support of Makawanpur was defeated. 1700 muslim soliders were killed in the battle.

Bhadra, 1823
The Gorkhali force made an attack on Kirtipur for the second time under the command of Shoorpratap Shah, younger brother of King Prithivi Narayan Shah. This time also the Gorkhalis were defeated & Shoorpratap Shah was hurt in his left eye.

1823 B.S
The Gorkhali troops surrounded Kirtipur from all sides for the three months i.e from Magh to Chaitra & made the blockade which created scarcity of goods & compelled the people of Kirtipur to surrender.

Ashwin 24,1824
After the conquest of Kirtipur, Kathmandu Valley was completely surrounded by the Gorkhali & King Prithivi Narayan Shah imposed economic blockade over Kathmandu Valley. It created scarcity of goods & commodities in Kathmandu Valley. Jayaprakash Malla, the king of Kantipur sought for help from the British East India Company against Gorkha. The troops sent by British under the charge of Captain Kinlock to help, Kantipur was badly defeated by the Gorkhali troops in the battle at Sindhuli. In this battle, Gorkha obtained 500 guns belonging from the British.

Ashwin 13, 1825
In 13th Ashwin 1825, Gorkha attacked over Kantipur at midnight when people were celebrating Indra Jatra festival. Kantipur was captured & Prithivi Narayan Shah sat on the throne of Kantipur. Jayprakash Malla fled to Patan.

Ashwin 24, 1825
Patan surrendered & the King Tej Narsingh of Patan & Jayaprakash Malla of Kantipur fled to Bhaktapur.

28th Kartik, 1826
Gorkhali troop invaded Bhaktapur. After three days of battle, the king of Bhaktapur, Ranjit Malla, surrendered. In this battle, 1700 troops of Bhaktapur & 50 troops of Gorkha were killed.

Magh 13, 1828
Gorkhali troops failed to get victory over Chaubise states.


Shrawan 4, 1830
King Prithivi Narayan Shah proceeded towards the east & occupied Chaudandi, the Sen Kingdom of eastern Nepal.
Shrawan 5, 1831
Gorkhali troops moved across the Koshi River & conquered Bijayapur, the last Sen kingdom. Boundary of Nepal reached up to Mechi in east as far as Tista.

Magh 1, 1831
Prithivi Narayan Shah died.
